Our hunts are sold as a package that will include up to 6 hunters. The price will remain the same for 4, 5 or 6 hunters. This will allow for smaller parties to not feel pressured to have more hunters if they prefer to hunt in a smaller group and yet will allow us to regulate our revenues appropriately. We think that we are one of the best values available in waterfowl hunting in Saskatchewan and our base price ($1,500 per hunter for a 2 ½ day hunt x 6 = $9,000) hasn’t changed in 12 years.
What has happened in the last 12 years is that the 5% GST tax has been added, the nonresident licenses (which we buy for our clients) have gone up to $200 each, and then the 6% PST tax was been added on top of that. What I have decided, instead of charging the 11% tax and the increase in the license fees, I will add $1,000 to the cost of each hunt to cover most of these expenses and quote an all inclusive price that is simple to deal with. The rates in the table below reflect these adjusted lower overall prices.
I am often asked about tips for your guide. A good comparison is when you go out to eat at a nice restaurant.
Tipping is completely up to you and the percentage of the tip (normally between 10 - 20%) is dependant on how well you liked the service.
